Terms of service

This page is a draft. The contact address and the retention period are still to be confirmed.

The service

Carcaja is a private group chat for memes. You post pictures to small groups of friends, react with an emoji and comment. A group holds up to 50 members.

Your account

You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. You must accept these terms before you use anything else, and when we publish a new version you are asked to accept it again. Keep your email account safe: anyone who reads your codes can sign in as you.

What you post

You keep what you post. You confirm that you may share it, and you allow Carcaja to store it and show it to the members of the group you post it in.

Memes that travel. You also allow Carcaja to copy a meme you post, picture only and without your name, into other groups. Comments and reactions never travel. This is part of accepting these terms.

Location. You allow Carcaja to work out an approximate location from the network address you sign in from, to place you and your groups.

Conduct

  • •

Do not post anything unlawful, hateful or harassing, or anything you have no right to share.

  • •

Do not try to break, overload or get around the service.

  • •

Members can report a meme or a comment. Group owners and moderators review reports, and the Carcaja team has the final say. Reported content may be hidden or removed.

Leaving

You can stop using Carcaja at any time. To delete your account, follow the steps in the privacy policy. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
